what happens when Iget more than 10 workers
More Info
Se-cor Safety programs just like cor programs are run on a three-year cycle. The first year is a certification year and the other two audits are called maintenance audits. If you hit the limit and you are in a maintenance audit then you can fill out one last audit and send it to the certifying partner. They will accept it as your last se-cor audit and send you a letter stating you have reached the limit and next year you will have to join the cor program. If you hit the maximum on a certification year they will not accept a se-cor audit. you will be forced to have a cor audit done instead.
Do I get any rebates for being safe
More Info

COR Safety Programs
Cor Programs are designed for larger companies in Various Industries. You have Construction, Forestry, Manufacturing, Mining, and Even Farming. The Cor structure includes a system for assessing hazards, a system for investigating incidents or accidents, and of course a system to ensure all workers are adequately trained for their role in the company. When it is set up properly it actually makes the company far more efficient. It ensures that all workers have the minimum training and their skills have been assessed so you know what they are good at and not so good at. This again gives you an opportunity for improvement like additional training.
Are Cor Programs different for each province
More Info
Yes, there are distinct differences in each province for the Cor Program. If you are using the Construction Associations audits they are still very similar. Recently though provinces strayed away from National Audit Strategy and went their own way. With other Certifying partners though the difference between provinces is like night and day.

By Law Do I need a Cor or Se-cor Safety Program?
More Info
This is a tricky question for the law does not state that a company has to have a cor or Se-cor but it does state that you need to have a system in place to identify and control hazards on the worksite. It also states new workers must be orientated and taught the hazards specific to their duties. It also states you need to investigate incidents and accidents and find the root cause. It also states you need to have health and safety meetings at least quarterly. They never chase you for any of this stuff until somebody gets hurt at work. The moment the hospital says the incident happened at work. This is when you wish you had a se-cor or cor program

More Info

Isnetworld Compliance
Isnetworld is one of the most popular services we offer as a safety consultant. It can be a technical process that involves researching OH&S codes in the province in which you are working. If you work in multiple provinces there will be programming for each province to build.
We don’t just do Isnetworld compliance either. We do Complyworks, Avetta, Contractor Check, Golden Shovel, and many more. Prime contractors like the idea that someone can figure out what is needed and make all contractors comply with the process. Simply put if you don’t upload the programs to prove you will comply then you will not have the appropriate grades to work for the prime contractor.
Each of these third-party verifiers does the exact same thing. They determine through current legislation what programs your company needs to meet legislative requirements. This eliminates some of the prime contractor responsibilities the big companies are responsible for.
What Are Ravs?
More Info
Ravs are called review and verification services; they are just called ravs for short. Basically, by the type of business you operate Isnetworld has a computer program that determines which of these RAVS apply to your business. The ravs are generated when you pick the work types in their system. They will ask a number of questions and your system must have procedures or processes in place to answer the questions.
Do you do All the Questionaires as Well as the RAVS?
More Info
Yes, we answer all the questions, get all the certificates of insurance from you as well as your wcb rate sheets and upload everything, and do all the questionnaires. The whole process usually takes a couple of days to complete.
Do You Maintain Isnetworld by the month?

We will monitor your account for changes and do updates like build new programs as they are required. We will let you know a month before your insurance expires so we can upload the new certificates before they expire. This way you can do the things you do best. {run your small or large business}
Do you Do Complyworks?
More Info
We maintain complyworks and do complyworks compliance from scratch as well. This program is much cheaper than isn and usually runs about $500.00 for the complete setup. We also do Avetta, Contractor Check, and many others. If you have one and it is not on the list don’t worry, we can do it. Just call Sales for a price.

More Info
Our Cor Process is usually a lump sum price with payments divided up into 4 payments. It depends on how many workers you have working for your company and the location of your company. It starts at $$5000.00 for a small to average size company. Often we recommend going digital first as it is cheaper to monitor your progress electronically than in real-time.
Se-Cor Certification Process
More Info
This process is Straight Forward and costs $2500.00, which includes the first audit for the program. We can usually get you certified in 3 months. We can often get you a temporary certification in as little as 2 weeks. Half the payment upfront and the other half when we get you the temporary certification.
Modified Work Programs
More Info
We can create a modern-day modified work program that WCB or WSIB recommends and train you how to use it. It will pay for itself the first time you use it. Programs cost around $500.00
Isnetworld Compliance
More Info
Isnetworld compliance involves setting you up on isn for the first time and answering all of the questionnaires and building the mini-safety, programs they require for various tasks you do. An example of a RAV or mini program is Dropped objects for those contractors who work at heights, it can be challenging to make sure things are falling off of scaffolding and hitting workers below.
Safety Program Maintenance or Management
We offer Safety Program Maintenance for all types of companies across Canada. This is done by setting you up on electronic programs and monitoring them from our office. We can make sure workers are doing inspections, hazard assessments, reporting incidents, and even help with incident investigations.
When someone isn’t compliant their supervisor can be notified of the issues and then it can be dealt with internally. The biggest problem with any safety program is getting people to do what is required of them to make it work. All too often they are set up with good intentions but then start to fall short as people find they don’t have time to complete the different tasks.
Quite often we can be a great tool for larger companies that have safety personnel in place but nobody is looking at the big picture. We can guide personnel in the right direction so that all the safety stuff is getting done and there are no gaps in the program.
Companies that have multiple branches can benefit from this method. As you know with branches you are only as strong as your weakest branch. Electronic programs let you check to make sure things like payroll match the safety stats. You can tell you are paying one more person in a branch. You should be able to find their orientation and verify they have received the training they need to do their job correctly.
How much do electronic safety programs cost?
More Info
The cost of the program is based on the number of workers that will be using the program. The smaller number of people using the program the higher the cost per person. Even a small company can expect to pay at least $3000.00 per year for the program. Having said that if you had to hire a safety person for each branch you have that would cost a lot more.
Electronic safety programs can be used to track hours, mileage on vehicles, and invoices for some types of remote work. You can use it in the event of an emergency like wildfires. The gps shows where your workers are and you can message them all at once should an emergency occur.
Are these programs offered accross Canada?
More Info
Yes, these programs are offered across Canada and the USA. Most of our work occurs in western Canada though. The best results occur when you have multiple branches, and you can tie them all together with this system. The communication will be great, as I said you can use this system for a lot more than just health and safety programs. You should be able to track things when they leave a location and when they arrive at another one.
Do Electronic Programs Cost More than Paper Programs?
More Info
Yes, electronic programs initially cost more than paper programs but that quickly changes when you integrate many of your other systems into the electronic version. They say you can never have too much data. This program is rich with new ways to collect data for your company. Everything from safety efforts to the bidding process. If you are running a complex construction project, you can see where your costs are for everything.
When you break down the costs of the electronic system over all your departments you will find the cost reasonable and wonder why you did not do it sooner. Just one example is a large trucking company using electronic logs to find that trucks in certain shops were not being maintained properly and that the cost was enormous in that shop. A simple hire of an apprentice mechanic to help drivers with oil changes dropped the costs by half. These days you can track anything you want to if you put your mind to it.
With your progams, will we always be cor compliant and compliant with OH&S Regs?
More Info
I can’t guarantee that you will always be compliant with Cor and OH&S regulations, but I do promise we will be very close at all times. Each month you get a report with recommendations on how to fix compliance issues. We are insured for errors and omissions should we ever steer you wrong or miscalculate regulations or rules.
We strive for 100% compliance and will not be happy until we achieve the results for you. After all, if you didn’t care about compliance you would have not spent the money to go electronic and monitor the programs externally.
What would be the cost of your program for 100 workers?

WCB Injury Reduction Programs or Modified Work Programs
Developing a modified work program is a significant challenge. It is different in each province because it is WCB that determines what has to be in a modified work program. If you don’t have all the elements in your modified work program it may be rejected by WCB when you go to use it for the first time.
We follow all the guidelines from the WCB in your province when we build your modified work program. Rest assured it is done according to their stringent guidelines and will work just fine. We develop the light-duty jobs that injured workers may do if they have been injured on the job.
You might ask well why I should pay somebody their regular wages to do filing or something that is not worth their heavy salary. This is true and I see your pain. The way WCB claims work is that when a claim happens it takes 3 years before that claim doesn’t affect your current WCB stats. So paying someone for a few weeks at a high rate of pay to keep your stats low and claims off the books is a better idea than letting them pay the worker for two weeks and then jump your premium by 10%.
Let’s say you have 10 workers and they all get $30.00 per hour and work an average of 200 hours per month. For simplistic, lets say you are paying 5% per hundred dollars wages
$60,000 gross wages in 30 days
5% is $3000.00 per month
Now lets say you have a two-week claim for one worker and they raise your premium to 7.5% as a result.
7.5% is $4500 per month
This rate could last for up to 3 years and if you have another claim, it could go even hirer.
Do I need a modifed work program legally?
More Info
Depending on the province you are working in but here in Alberta, it is the law that you have to offer the worker modified work if the worker can do such work. Whether it is the law or not you could cost your company a ton of money and make its future rocky without a program.
When a company is bidding on projects one of the first things you will get asked for is your injury frequency rate. For most companies, this is not a big deal or a deal-breaker but if you have had numerous claims in the last few years, you probably won’t get the job.
To make matters worse this will go on for 3 years until the incidents work their way through the system. How many companies can survive if their main source of income is interrupted for a full 3 years?
Do You build Modified work programs in All Provinces?
More Info
Yes, we can build modified work programs for each province in Canada. We follow your provincial WCB guidelines. It is not Called WCB in Each province, however, but we still build modified work programs in those provinces.
We find light-duty jobs injured workers can do within your company while they are healing from an injury. We craft letters offering worker modified work that state salary and potential length of the assignment.
We also educate workers on the duties of the modified work program. For instance, you can refuse a job in the modified work program but then the WCB will likely deny your claim because you have been offered suitable employment.
We also craft the medical release forms they must sign to let us get the latest medical information about their injury.
Is there ever a time when it is better to let worker go on WCB?
More Info
If a worker is killed on the job, injured to the point where they will need rehabilitation then that worker should and would start a claim on WCB. Anything major is going to start a claim no matter how good a modified work program your company has.
It is still important to remember that there are other factors at play here. For example, if the worker was killed in a vehicle accident was, he at fault for the accident, or is another party responsible for his or her death.
There are also other circumstances where you might apply to transfer some or all the claims’ costs to another company if they were responsible for the incident. You better be on the ball though because unless you ask and know what you are doing, they will just charge the whole thing to you.
How Expensive is it to build a modified work program?
More Info
The costs vary from province to province and the size of the company, but it would certainly be under $2000.00
Another service we offer is claims administration, this is where we follow the claim and make sure all doctors and medical care are following treatment programs and the worker is on schedule to return to work on a certain date. Often workers will try to delay their return to work for various reasons.
If you have a claim and you ignore it and just wait for the worker to tell you he is ready to return to work you are going to wait 2 times longer than if someone is following up weekly and talking to the worker to make sure they feel they are still part of the team.
Do I have to Keep the Worker after he is done with the modified work program?
More Info
In some cases where a worker is not going to recover fully, you are required to keep them employed for a period. If the worker has recovered fully and is no longer on the modified work program, then you can part ways either by layoffs or with cause.
It is important to know that when a worker is on WCB although you can still terminate them the chances of them staying on WCB until the claim is exhausted. This will cost you a lot of money in the long run. I would suggest you find another way to deal with the injured worker until he or she is completely back to work and is off the WCB program entirely
